SharePoint 2013 Hosting :: Setting Permissions on a SharePoint List view

Have you ever came upon not having the ability to set permissions on a list in SharePoint 2013? Well, I received this requirement once more last week, however this time i used to be able to notice a workaround solutiorbon.

Build a simple time off report list for your organization. All regular staff will use the list to add and view their own time off report records. HR members ought to also have access to the list however ought to see everyone’s’ time off report.

SharePoint Foundation 2013 Hosting

The list is one; the permission levels for normal for regular and time unit members are completely different. so however will we configure {different|totally different|completely different} reads and setup different permissions in order that both entities (employees and HR member) will view what they’re supposed to view?

Well, here is the workaround:

1. Produce the list. In my example above I referred to as it time off Report.
2. Set the correct permissions on the list. In my example above, regular staff have contributor access and HR members has full access. These can be AD groups, SharePoint groups, or direct users.
3. Produce a web part page for HR members and set permissions for that page to be solely accessed by time unit, give them full access.
4. Drop a web half on the web part page and bind it to your list. In my example time off Report list.
5. Go back to the main list (“Time Off Report”) and change the default all items view to filter based on “created by”. The filter option is listed beneath the list of columns as a part of the list view options. this way the default view for everybody is their own content. Note: this step will prevent the main from viewing any records off the most list, that is okay since we are giving them their own page options records from. Of couse, unless they’re going to or have created their own time off report things.
6. If needed, add links to each the default all items view and to the web part page for easier navigation and access by the various groups on to the highest link bar.

Note: you have got to configure it in the order shown, particularly step two should come before step five.
